With joy and gladness, we had 42 invited guests in our home last night to celebrate Christmas eve with us. The highlight of the night was a treat by carolers from my church (Ang Mo Kio Presbytarian Church). It was a happy surprise for all our guests as the carolers narrated, sang and brought marvelous news for all through the nativity story of Christmas. Indeed, along with them they brought much cheer and true meaning to the celebration and it warmed my heart to see our guests clapping & singing along with them.
Thank you, God, for Christmas !
JOHN 3: 16
“FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONE AND ONLY SON, THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE.”
What a wonderful name…
What a perfect Saviour…
What a reason to celebrate!
She will give birth to a Son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus because He will save His people from their sins. Matthew 1:21
Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)
“For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Luke 2:8-14 (NIV)
“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
“When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.”
